Electrical products maker nVent has picked the Phoenix area for its next big factory, a fresh boost for US hiring 2026. The company said on 27 October 2026 that it has leased a 400,000 square foot manufacturing site in Goodyear, Arizona, which will employ more than 200 people once fully operational.

What the plant will build

The Goodyear site will make engineered buildings – large, factory-built structures that house electrical equipment. A key product is the e-house, a prefabricated electrical building delivered to a site ready to install.

nVent says demand is coming from three main groups of customers:

  • Power utilities upgrading the grid
  • Data centres, which are expanding fast to support AI and cloud computing
  • Industrial customers building or upgrading plants

  • Welders, fabricators and sheet-metal workers
  • Electricians and electrical assemblers who wire panels and switchgear
  • Machine operators and production associates
  • Quality inspectors and test technicians
  • Production supervisors, planners and engineers
  • Warehouse, shipping and logistics staff

How to apply

nVent has not yet posted a dedicated hiring page for Goodyear. Check the careers section of nVent's official website regularly and search for Goodyear or Phoenix locations. Hiring will usually start with supervisors and engineers before production roles open closer to the 2027 launch.

What it means for job seekers

  • Arizona's factory boom continues. Data-centre demand is driving new manufacturing jobs across the Phoenix area.
  • Trade skills pay off. Welding, electrical and fabrication certificates will put you near the front of the queue.
  • Start now. Community college courses in welding or industrial electrical work take months, so begin before hiring peaks.
  • Use official channels only. Never pay anyone who promises you a job at a new factory.
