US heating and cooling giant Carrier Global has announced a new advanced manufacturing and engineering centre in Fort Worth, Texas, that will bring 1,500 jobs. The company said on 22 October 2026 that it will put more than $600 million into the project over the next three years.
What Carrier is building
The site sits inside AllianceTexas, a large business park in north Fort Worth. The building will cover more than 1 million square feet.
The plant will build commercial chillers, both air-cooled and water-cooled. These are the large cooling machines used to keep buildings and equipment at the right temperature. Carrier says demand is coming from:
- Data centres, which need huge amounts of cooling for AI and cloud servers
- Hospitals and healthcare buildings
- Schools and universities
- Factories and other industrial sites
Carrier says the extra capacity will help it keep up with orders, which are at record levels.

What kinds of jobs to expect
Carrier describes the roles as advanced manufacturing, engineering and other jobs. It has not yet published a detailed list. A plant of this type usually needs:
- Assembly technicians, machine operators and welders
- Maintenance technicians and electricians
- Quality inspectors and test technicians
- Mechanical, electrical and manufacturing engineers
- Supply chain, warehouse and logistics staff
- Supervisors, planners and office support
The site will also have engineering labs, so there should be openings for design and product engineers, not only factory staff.
Training and local partners
Carrier says it chose Fort Worth for its skilled workforce and manufacturing base. The company plans to work with local schools and colleges on training programmes, which could open routes for students and people moving into manufacturing for the first time.
Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker welcomed the project as more proof of the city's growing manufacturing sector.
