Dubai wants to more than double the number of artificial intelligence jobs at its dedicated AI hub. On 26 October 2026, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, approved new goals for Dubai AI Campus: attracting more than 1,000 AI companies and creating over 5,000 highly skilled jobs by 2030.

The announcement was made as he opened the third Dubai AI Festival at Dubai World Trade Centre.

What has happened so far

Dubai AI Campus sits inside Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and opened in May 2024. According to the Dubai Media Office, it beat its first five-year targets for company numbers and investment two years ahead of schedule.

Measure Result since May 2024 New 2030 target
AI companies More than 500 More than 1,000
Specialised tech jobs More than 2,000 More than 5,000
Funding raised by member firms Over AED 1 billion Not stated

In simple terms, roughly 3,000 more skilled jobs are planned over the next four years if the targets are met.

A new building for AI firms

A purpose-built home for the campus, covering about 100,000 square feet, is planned in the DIFC Zabeel District expansion. Officials describe it as the first facility of its kind in the world. Plans include:

  • GPU-ready computing systems and secure zones for AI development
  • Digital twin environments and AI-powered building systems
  • Modular, lab-ready floors for "AI Labs", where government and private bodies can build and test AI tools
  • Conference space for summits and policy events
  • An AI Experience Centre open to residents, students and visitors

The festival

The two-day festival, organised by Dubai AI Campus with the Office of the Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, expected over 20,000 visitors from more than 100 countries, with 150+ speakers, 500 investors and 200 exhibitors. Exhibitors on the tour included AWS, Alibaba Cloud, ElevenLabs, Dubai Medical University and Linkerbot. The future of work and AI literacy were among the themes.

Sheikh Hamdan said Dubai aims to lead the way in taking up new technologies.

Which jobs are likely

The targets are for "highly skilled" roles. Based on the type of firms on the campus, job seekers can expect demand for:

  • AI and machine learning engineers
  • Data scientists and data engineers
  • Cloud, MLOps and cybersecurity specialists
  • AI product managers and solution architects
  • Sales, partnerships and operations staff at growing AI start-ups

These are targets, not a single job advert, so there is no central application form. Hiring will be done by the individual companies on the campus.

What it means for job seekers

  • Watch DIFC-based start-ups. Many of the 500+ firms are small and growing, and they often hire through LinkedIn and their own websites.
  • Build a portfolio. For AI roles, a GitHub profile or project demos usually count as much as a degree.
  • Business skills matter too. AI firms also need sales, finance, legal and HR staff who understand the technology.
  • Go to tech events. Festivals and meetups in Dubai are a good way to meet founders who are hiring.

Employers in the UAE already say AI and cybersecurity are among the hardest roles to fill. See our report on UAE hiring rebounding in Q3 2026 and the World Bank's view on AI and jobs in the UAE.
