ADNOC has opened a pipeline of more than Dh60 billion in local manufacturing opportunities running to 2030, and says its supplier programme has already created jobs for more than 27,500 Emiratis in the private sector. The news came at the second Make it with ADNOC Forum in Abu Dhabi on 25 October 2026.

For job seekers, the message is simple: more of the equipment and parts the UAE's energy giant buys are meant to be made inside the country, and that means more factory, engineering and supply chain jobs in the UAE.

Key facts

Detail Information
Organisation ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company)
Announced 25 October 2026, Make it with ADNOC Forum
New opportunities More than Dh60 billion up to 2030
Products covered 200+ products plus critical spare parts
Emirati jobs created so far More than 27,500 (to end-2025)
UAE factories supported 95
Approved Local+ manufacturers More than 100 (up from 70 in May 2026)

What is being localised

ADNOC grouped the opportunities into several product families. These are the areas where new or bigger UAE factories may appear:

Product area Likely job types
Rotating equipment and power Mechanical engineers, fitters, technicians
Electrical, control and automation Electrical and instrumentation engineers, PLC programmers
Drilling and completion Machinists, inspectors, field service staff
Chemicals and catalysts Chemists, process operators, lab technicians
Piping, fabrication and heavy equipment Welders, fabricators, QA/QC inspectors
Advanced manufacturing CNC operators, 3D printing and design engineers

How the programme creates jobs

ADNOC's In-Country Value (ICV) scheme has run since 2018. Suppliers score better in tenders when they spend in the UAE, build local factories and employ Emiratis. ADNOC says the programme has pushed more than Dh307 billion back into the local economy and helped localise over 130 products.

The newer Local+ programme goes further. Contractors building ADNOC projects must buy certain items from approved UAE makers, giving those factories steady orders, and steady orders mean steady hiring.

ADNOC is also making it easier to become a supplier. It says the time needed to get ready to bid could fall by up to 80%, paperwork is being halved and many service categories will no longer need prequalification. Smaller UAE firms could win work faster and grow their teams.

What it means for job seekers

  • Emiratis with technical training are in a strong spot. ICV rules reward suppliers that hire UAE nationals, so engineering, IT and trade graduates should target ADNOC suppliers, not only ADNOC itself.
  • Look at industrial zones. KEZAD, ICAD and other Abu Dhabi industrial areas are where new plants usually open. ADNOC signed agreements with ADIO and KEZAD Group at the forum.
  • Experienced expats with manufacturing skills in machining, fabrication, valves, pumps, cables and chemicals may find new openings as factories scale up.
  • Follow the Local+ list. Companies on it are the most likely to expand first.
  • Get certified. Welding, NDT, instrumentation and quality certificates are often what separate shortlisted candidates.
