What the Youth Guarantee offers
The scheme aims to support almost 1 million young people and create 500,000 opportunities. Every under-25 should be offered one of these:
- A job
- Education or training
- An apprenticeship
- A traineeship
- Work experience
- A sector-based work academy (SWAP) place
How to take part
DWP plans at least one fair in every region of Great Britain but has not yet published dates. If you are under 25, ask your local Jobcentre or work coach about the next Youth Guarantee fair near you and about SWAP courses, which often end with a guaranteed interview. These fairs are free; never pay anyone to attend.
