Young citizens searching for Kuwait jobs with a technical edge have a new training route on the way. Kuwait's Ministry of Social Affairs, working with the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET), plans to train 300 young Kuwaitis in three technical fields to prepare them for work in the country's co-operative societies. Minister Dr Amthal Al-Huwailah announced the plan on Saturday, Kuwait Times reported on 31 October 2026, citing KUNA.
The three diplomas
| Diploma | Places |
|---|---|
| Smart building systems | 100 |
| Mechatronics | 100 |
| Sustainability | 100 |
| Total | 300 |
Kuwait's co-ops run supermarkets, malls and service buildings in almost every residential area. That means a steady need for people who can manage building systems, maintain automated equipment and cut energy and water use.
What each field could lead to
- Smart building systems: looking after building controls, cooling, lighting, security and access systems in co-op markets and branches.
- Mechatronics: maintaining machines that combine mechanics, electronics and software, such as automated storage, conveyors and refrigeration plant.
- Sustainability: helping co-ops save energy and water, cut waste and meet greener building standards.
These job paths are our guide to the type of work involved. The ministry has not yet named the exact posts trainees will move into.

There is no application page yet. Follow the official channels of the Ministry of Social Affairs and PAAET for the registration announcement, and keep your Civil ID and latest school or diploma certificates ready so you can apply quickly when it opens.
What it means for job seekers
- Technical skills are in demand. Co-ops are moving towards smart and energy-saving buildings, and they need nationals who can run them.
- Places are limited. With only 100 seats per field, early registration will matter.
- Pick the field that fits you. Mechatronics suits people who like hands-on repair work; sustainability suits those interested in energy and the environment.
- Training adds to your CV even if you later move to the oil, utilities or facilities sector.
