Business jet maker Bombardier says it is recruiting for 500 jobs in the United States right now and plans 300 more as it opens and expands sites. The company announced the plan on 23 October 2026, taking total US hiring to about 800 roles.

Bombardier, based in Montreal, builds its Challenger and Global business jets in Canada, the US and Mexico. Much of the new US work is in aircraft service and maintenance, where demand from business jet owners keeps growing.

What it means for job seekers

  • An A&P licence opens doors. FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification is the standard ask for maintenance technicians.
  • No licence yet? Look at apprenticeships. Bombardier has advertised apprentice technician roles in Wichita.
  • Fort Wayne is hiring first. With a November opening, that site is likely to fill roles soon.
  • Avionics is in demand. Electronics and wiring skills are needed for upgrades on newer jets.
