The European Union is building an online platform to help people from outside the EU find jobs in Europe. Called the EU Talent Pool, it was created by Regulation (EU) 2026/1047, which entered into force on 1 June 2026.
Timeline
| Step | Date |
|---|---|
| European Commission proposal | 16 November 2023 |
| European Parliament adoption | 10 March 2026 |
| Council final approval | 30 March 2026 |
| Published in the EU Official Journal | 12 May 2026 |
| Entered into force | 1 June 2026 |
| Platform fully running | expected by 2027 |
How it will work
- Non-EU job seekers who are adults will be able to create a profile showing their skills, qualifications, work experience and languages.
- Employers in participating EU countries will be able to search these profiles and contact candidates.
- The platform will focus on jobs facing shortages across the EU.
Important limits
- Participation is voluntary for EU countries. Not every EU member state may join, so check which countries take part before registering.
- The platform does not give you a visa. If an employer hires you, you will still need to apply for a work permit or visa in that country under its normal rules.
- It is not open yet. The platform is still being set up and is expected to be fully operational by 2027.
What you can do now
- Keep your CV, degree certificates and experience letters ready, ideally with English (or local-language) translations.
- Work on language skills, especially for countries like Germany, where many jobs need the local language.
- Use only official EU and government websites to register when the platform launches. Anyone charging a fee to "register you in the EU Talent Pool" is likely a scam.
We will publish an update when the platform opens for registrations.
Apply only through the official source.
