If you are looking for an office or administrative job in Saudi Arabia, check the latest Saudization rules first. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) has added 69 administrative support professions to the list of jobs that must be done only by Saudi nationals in the private sector.
The update took effect on 5 April 2026, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Which jobs are covered
The 69 professions fall under the Unified Saudi Occupational Classification and include roles in:
- secretarial work
- translation
- data entry
- general administrative support
The rule applies to every private establishment that employs one or more workers in these professions.
HRSD has published a procedural guide on its website listing all 69 professions and explaining how the rule is applied.
What this means for expat job seekers
- Avoid offers for these roles. A Saudi employer cannot legally hire an expat into a 100% Saudized profession. An offer like this may be a scam or lead to problems with your work permit later.
- Check the job title on your visa. Your official profession must match a role open to expats.
- Look at technical and specialised roles instead. Saudization is applied profession by profession, so many skilled, technical and specialist jobs remain open to foreign workers.
- Already working in one of these roles? Speak to your employer about your status and options, and keep your documents in order.
HRSD says companies that do not comply face regulatory penalties.
Apply only through the official source.
